We’re building the bridge back to people.
RECO exists for the man who’s told no one. Our whole job is to meet him in the moment he’s most alone — and walk him, gently, toward people and toward a higher power.
Shame lives in secrecy. The decision to slip is often made in thirty seconds, late at night, when every human support is asleep.
Human connection is what actually heals — but calling a sponsor or telling a friend is exactly the hard thing a man in early recovery can’t yet do. And the tools that exist get the lane wrong: blockers treat it as willpower, streak apps gamify it, and most AI “coaches” risk becoming a substitute for the very connection that heals.
RECO is built for the distance between total silence and human connection — without pretending to be the connection itself, and without raising an ounce of shame along the way.
The principles we won’t bend.
The mirror, not the authority.
We reflect your own values, plan, and future self back at you — most of all in the hard moment. We don't lecture and we don't prescribe.
Shame has no place here.
Self-criticism is the engine of the relapse cycle, not a brake on it. We speak to behavior, never to your identity.
A slip is data, not failure.
Coming back is the victory. Sobriety is a date, not a streak — nothing ever resets to zero.
The bridge, not the destination.
The companion's job is to hand you toward real people — and to quietly work itself out of the center of your recovery.
Faith as gravity, not a gate.
Room for belief, another tradition, or none at all. Your higher power is yours to name — or not.
Service starts early.
You don't have to be “fixed” to help someone else. Giving back, through reciprocal check-ins, is part of getting well.
We measure ourselves by the number of people who make a real human connection.
Not time in the app. Not streaks. Not engagement. Success, for us, looks like a man who needs the tool less because he finally has his people.
RECO started from one belief: no one should have to face the hardest moment alone, and shame has never once helped a man get free of it. Everything here is built to move you out of the silence — gently, privately, and toward real people.
